The Fables of John Shackle - Cotton Tales - Bobby Forte Pt 1
INTRODUCTION:
John Shackle, a man of folklore, was an enslaved man who attained
his freedom. He tried to convince many of their enslavement, but few
listened. One day, John was beaten for giving a speech to enslaved
workers. He was told that he would be killed if he was caught spoiling
the minds of good slaves again. John did not stop. He continued to
travel and tell his wisdom as stories so that only those that had his
experiences would understand his words. This is a collection of those
stories.
